The popular manga Highschool of the Dead will be getting an anime series according to Moonphase Diary (JP). Illustrated by Satou Shouji and written by Satou Daisuke, the manga centers around a group of highschool students who find themselves in the midst of a zombie apocalypse fighting for survival. The series is known for its violent action scenes and heavy portions of fanservice; what’s not to like?

Reports suggest that Madhouse Studios will be responsible for the anime adaptation. Madhouse has a nice track record having worked on other popular anime such as Trigun, Black Lagoon, Death Note and a couple of the Bleach movies. Unfortunately no release date has been given at this time, but we’ll be sure to let you know when we hear something!
