Episode 58 of Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood has come out this week and we at Nerdum are committed to let you know if it’s worth watching or not. This week’s episode is an exciting one and quite a few things happen, but I promise I will try not to spoil it for anyone.

So we pick up where we left off last week, Greed is still fighting Wrath/King Bradley except with one less eye and a bit more flesh wounds. But of course, their only flesh wounds, King Bradley and so he doesn’t give Greed/Lin Yao a freakin break, because he only laughs at the idea of the “Ultimate Shield”. But ultimately this leads to that and King Bradley ends up in the canal with a bullet wound on his shoulder.

Lin Yao then finds out that Fu is dead and asks that Greed give him power to take down the Central soldiers.

Yea… you don’t want to make Lin Yao/Greed angry. Obviously, you can understand from this picture what happened to those poor Central soldiers that were just following orders.

Anyways, so we’re back to Edward being transported to an unknown room along with Izumi Curtis and Al. They meet an odd dark creature that just so happens to be engulfing Hohenheim’s entire body!

They talk to it for a bit and find out who he is, then it fully engulfs Hohenheim’s body into itself, and so they get ready to start fighting, but not before finding out that Al doesn’t seem to be inside his armor anymore…. hmmm, I wonder what happened, maybe he’s still inside the Gate of Truth and trying to take his body back. At this point we don’t know.

So we then get moved back to Scar, Lt. Hawkeye and Colonel Mustang fighting the failed Wrath experiments… which happen to overcome them and take them hostage. The doctor asks an odd request from Colonel Mustang, and that’s to do a human transmutation. Colonel Mustang obviously knows that human transmutation doesn’t work and so he refuses…. so something happens to Lt. Hawkeye that puts Mustang in a position of having to make an incredibly important decision.

I personally thought this episode was great, it had some great action sequences, some dramatic points that are pretty sad, and some new questions that just scream to be answered!

If you want to find out what all happens and fill in all the details I carefully chose to not talk about by watching the episode at Anime Kami.
