This week we review 3 new episodes starting with Angel Beats! episode 9, then moving on to Demon King Daimaou episode 9, and finally ending this article on an incredibly high note with Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood episode 59. Three very good shows, all getting more awesome by the second.

Angel Beats! episode 9

Surprisingly, this episode of Angel Beats! is a pretty sad one, once again looking into the past of Otonashi, the part of his memory that was left out the first time we saw into his past. We find out that Otonashi actually survived the crash that we originally thought had ended his life, and he helped save the others in the train that were still alive. Over the next few days they’re still underground, one of the survivors that was badly injured dies, another tries to steal water for himself, all the while Otonashi keeps his composure and keeps everyone’s hopes up until the very end. Near the end of this episode Otonashi and the other survivors are almost dead from lack of food, water, oxygen, and injuries and so they decide to sign to become organ donors on their cards so when they die their body’s can be of use to others. Luckily, the survivors get saved, but not without Otonashi dying a split second before the ray of light shines down upon them from the ceiling.

After-wards, Otonashi wakes up back in the after life next to Angel, who is finally awake and seems to be back to her normal self again. To see what else happens in this episode and the plan that Otonashi and Angel conjure up, download it here!

Demon King Daimaou episode 9

This has got to be one of my favorite episodes so far of Demon King Daimaou. The story line gets propelled forward with full force in this one, especially with Junko trying to figure out how to tell Akuto to marry her AND meet her family. A whole slew of new characters (who get annihilated) get introduced as well as a new blonde guy who is incredibly strong (reminds me of Wrath, because of the way he handles that sword). Obviously from looking at the picture Kena gets attacked by one of the bad guys, but why? What’s so special about her that she’s being targeted as an assassination by God itself?

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood episode 59

Oh dear, it sucks that Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood is nearing its final days. I’m definitely not in a rush, because this show just keeps getting better the longer it runs and this episode definitely does NOT disappoint.

This starts off with Colonel Mustang about to make his decision on whether or not to do the human transmutation to save Lt. Hawkeye‘s life. But Colonel Mustang, being the gentleman that he is, says NO. What happens next is a set of events which happen to start with the chimera buddies and May coming in for the rescue and taking the doctor hostage, and helping fight off the failed Wrath experiments along with Scar and Mustang.

But before long Pride comes from out of nowhere along with Wrath (still injured) to come and ruin the day and not make anything too say for these guys. This all basically leads to Colonel Mustang getting pinned down (see picture) by Wrath. Pride then consumes the Doctor so they can force Colonel Mustang to make a human transmutation against his will and become the final sacrifice.

You also find out in this episode where Al has been and why he hasn’t woken up, as well as what was taken from Colonel Mustang after passing through the Gates of Truth.
