Live Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Movie!

by Kurt On June - 2 - 2010

You heard right, it is not a dream, it is a reality! It’s been reported by several news sources that a live Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie is going to be produced by Michael Bay’s Platinum Dunes production company. For some this may be a dream come true, for others it may mean the death of yet another classic memory for all us.

I may be in the minority here, but I personally like Michael Bay‘s movies, they are movies for the people. They definitely are great entertainment and make the money that everybody is wanting them to make out there in Hollywood. Which is probably the reason they keep coming back to him to make awesome action flicks.

It’s been reported that Paramount alongside Nickelodeon have put together $60 million for Platinum Dunes to revamp the TMNT franchise. That’s a hefty sum of cash there, I hope they have what it takes to take this 90′s cartoon show and bring it back to the big screen and still be awesome. Platinum Dunes has produced and kick started quite a few franchises over the years, including The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Amityville Horror and most recently, A Nightmare on Elm Street. I don’t know about you, but I thought each of these movies was pretty good. So let’s be positive and see what Michael Bay can do to make the TMNT movie a massive hit.

Or not…

I will reserve judgment for now. The Ninja Turtles were so freaking awesome back in the day and the very first live action movie is STILL fantastic. Sadly, most of them since have not really lived up to the original; to me anyway.
