Since its launch last month, the Nexus One has generated a lot of complaints from users about the customer service from Google. Google was offering very limited help to customers experiencing issues in the form of an online FAQ and support forums. Now they have finally opened a live phone line for customers.

The phone line, 888-48NEXUS (63987), is targeted mainly at order status and shipping issues. Costumers experiencing problems with the device itself are supposed to contact HTC or use the aforementioned online support methods. “Live phone support from Google, combined with an optimized on-line support experience, enables a superior Nexus One customer experience,” says one Google representative. I don’t know if I would go that far, but at least it’s a step in the right direction.
