Google Voice Comes to the iPhone

Well it may have taken a while, but Google voice has finally landed on the iPhone, but probably not in the way you were expecting. It was no secret that Apple denied the Google Voice app for the iPhone because they felt it too closely mirrored the phone’s…well, phone functionality.

Naturally this didn’t go over so well with Google and they set about finding a way to get it on there anyway and at last they have a solution. Instead of launching an app like you normally would; you instead point your phone browser to http://m.google.com/voice and use it from there.

This is great for iPhone users as Venture Beat points out, “Google Voice makes calls free or very cheap for international dialing and provides transcriptions of your voicemail and free text messages.”
