XBL Hacked by Dumbass
Major Nelson, the face and voice of Xbox LIVE, was recently the victim of an account hack on Xbox LIVE. The perpetrator is apparently not very good at this kind of thing. According to a report by Kotaku, “lightzz.com is claiming responsibility.” The perpetrator, with help from a couple others, gained access to Major Nelson’s account and entered profanities into several of the player information fields. However, it doesn’t look like this will end well for the would-be hacker; like a total n00b, he recorded a video of himself playing around with the hacked account, gave out his skype and IM info and even gave out the info of his two cohorts so that people could contact them and pay them $60 to hack an account.
Within minutes the gaming community dug up his personal information including full name and address. Microsoft has secured the account and one Mr. Yasiel Rodriguez of Miami, FL can probably expect to be hearing from them.
You can view the video and lack of sophistication below. This does make you wonder though, if an XBL account can be compromised by an individual of such…well, limited intellect, just how secure is your account?
UPDATE: The original video was pulled, but someone else had posted it as well and that one is still up; enjoy!
lmao, this video is so awesome. My favorite parts? “Yeaaah, bitch” and “get the fuck out of here, Predator.”
