Mario’s second coming has been and gone in the gaming world and so now it is time to look at the newest of the new and see what games will be battling for your bucks this week.

Sega’s Alpha Protocol makes its long-awaited debut this week and EA’s Madden franchise may finally have a serious contender for gaming’s football crown with Backbreaker taking to the field. Backbreaker may lack the official NFL license, but the game is powered by the Euphoria physics engine which makes for incredibly realistic tackles, collisions and other animations on the field. The game also allows you to create your own teams, players and schedules. It also includes a logo editor so that you can essentially mimic real NFL teams. It will be interesting to see how the game does at retail.
