The 2010 Game Developers Conference has officially kicked off today and Microsoft has revealed the next version of their XNA Game Studio. XNA Game Studio 4.0 adds support for the new Windows Phone 7 Series. The package takes advantage of 3D hardware acceleration and integrates Xbox LIVE features into the phones. The features include the ability to hook into a Gamertag, unlock achievements for phone games and pull in avatar information.

XNA is a great, free library aimed at budding game developers. The platform, with the advent of version 4.0, will allow users to create games for the PC, Zune, Xbox 360 and Windows Phone 7 devices. For 360 games, there is a mandatory membership which runs $99/year. For more information on XNA, check out the official creators club website.
