The latest video game reported to be headed for the silver screen is none other than Bioware’s space epic Mass Effect. As mentioned on Kotaku, the Mass Effect movie rights have been scooped up by Legendary Pictures. Now you may be rolling your eyes already, but perhaps this one may turn out ok; the article mentions that Screenwriter Mark Protosevich is supposedly in charge of bringing the game to life for a movie. Potosevich has a pretty impressive resume that includes movies such as I Am Legend, The Cell and Thor.

Nothing here is set in stone so there’s still plenty of time for everything to fall apart as seems to be the norm with game-to-movie conversions. For now though; I’ll play the optimist and hope for the best.
