Hulu Plus Revealed
Today the official Hulu blog revealed details on the new Hulu Plus; a subscription-based tv service that allows you to watch whatever shows you want, whenever you want. The new service will cost users just $9.99/month; not a bad deal if you ask me. The big difference between Hulu.com and the new Hulu Plus is that Hulu Plus will feature entire seasons of your favorite television shows instead of just a few sporadic episodes.
The other big news that came out of this announcement is the number of devices on which the service will be available. We had speculated before that the PS3 and Xbox 360 would be included, and they are, but so are a ton of other devices. In addition to the game consoles and your pc, Hulu Plus will also be available on the iPhone, iPod touch, iPad, Samsung and Sony Blu-ray players and on select Samsung, Sony and Vizio internet-enabled television sets.
With Hulu Plus, you have no more excuses for missing out on great tv shows. You can see the official announcement on the Hulu blog and check out the supported devices right here.
Seems like a pretty good deal. I will have to see how the content compares to netflix, no need to have 2 streaming services. Also if Hulu’s app runs better than netflix.

It depends I think. NetFlix is great for movies, but they don’t have a lot available for instant streaming and it can be a long wait for seasons of shows to arrive. I think Hulu might be the way to go for regular tv shows while Netflix will still be the play for movies.
I also think cable is getting more and more obsolete. I can pay 10 bucks a month for Hulu and Netflix and $50/year for XBL which comes out to about $24/month. That gets me movies on demand that don’t cost extra, good tv shows to watch whenever I want and when ESPN arrives, plenty of sports content. That makes cable’s $50~$70/month look like a pretty bad deal.
