Hulu Plus Ready for PlayStation Plus

by Ryan On July - 14 - 2010

There have been a lot of reports about the Hulu Plus service coming to gaming consoles in the last few weeks and now it is officially available to PS3 owners who also happen to be members of Sony’s new PlayStation Plus. PlayStation Plus subscribers that don’t mind paying the additional $9.99/month fee for Hulu Plus can check out the service now – well in advance of Xbox 360 users who won’t see the service until 2011 and a couple of months before other PS3 owners.

At this time, the service is only available to those who subscribe to PlayStation Plus. However, Sony has stated that this will not be the case when Hulu Plus fully launches for the PS3 later this year. At that time the service will be available to PlayStation Plus and non-plus members alike. By not forcing players to subscribe to their premium online service to get Hulu Plus, Sony could have a big advantage over Microsoft. It also doesn’t hurt that they’re getting it several months before the Xbox.

It should be noted that the official announcement says the service will be offered to “select” PS Plus members, so it may not be available to everyone.
