Electronic Arts, taking one step closer to game industry domination
EA obtained two game studios today, Pandemic Studios in Los Angeles and Brisbane, Australia; and BioWare Corp. in Edmonton and Austin.

PlayStation 3 - TV Tuner and Digital Video Recorder
Great news for European PLAYSTATION®3 (PS3™) owners today! PS3 is soon to gain digital TV tuner and DVR capabilities called PlayTV which will be a free service. You will be able to view/record 2 channels @ 1080p through the use of a 7-day Electronic Programme Guide (EPG2). You can also utilize a PSP™ (PlayStation®Portable) to view, and set to record programs via a Wi-Fi connection (using the Remote Play feature). Digital content can also be transferred for viewing on the PSP. PlayTV will be updated via PLAYSTATION®Network meaning it will always stay up to date!
This is great news and all for Europe, but the question still remains as to when we can expect these features for PS3 owners in other countries.

New SIXAXIS - DualShock 3 Controller coming soon…
The long awaited rumble DualShock SIXAXIS controller will soon be upon us. Making its debut in October with Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, the new DualShock 3 controller will add the oh-so-necessary rumble to the upcoming game.

PlayStation Portable gains VOIP capabilities
The PSP has new software, coming in January 2008, to its platform called Go!Messenger allowing PSP owners to make VOIP calls when on a Wi-Fi connection and send instant messages. However, there has been no official date as to when it will be available in America.

Paramount and Dreamworks are exclusive to HD DVD
Big news for the HD community today when Paramount and Dreamworks have stated they will no longer be supporting Blu-ray. Their movies will be release strictly on HD DVD from now on. The reasoning behind this is due to a 2:1 sale ratio on stand-alone HD players.
